I have visited Club Zydeco several times to listen to their live performers. I finally had a chance to explore the other day. According to the profile It is "As close to a real Louisiana swamp as you can get, with a cajun village." It has also been nominated for Avi Choice Awards for Favorite Live Venue, Favorite Live Venue Senior.
When you land at the sim you can see the club through the trees. there are wooden foot bridges to walk on since the buildings are on stilts in a swamp. These walkways get you from place to place and appear to form a circle around the swamp. When there are not performers at the club, they play a mix of cajun influenced music and also some of the tunes done by the live performers, a nice mix.
The club itself is very inviting and has a fun atmosphere. This is where you would go for the live performances and entertainment. When you leave the club proper and continue on the footbridge, you come to the Team Life shack that houses the Relay for Life awards/achievements they have received over the years. It is obvious they have been very active with the charity for a long time and have worked hard to support it.
As I continued along, I came to a fork in the road. Left took me to the Virtual Fishing area and right to the Game Area. I went to the Fishing area first. It is nicely laid out with comfy chairs. If you don't have a fishing pole, you can get one there, take a seat and start fishing . If you go to your right you can take a walk through the swamp. Along the way, I saw a paddle boat, the end of a huge water slide (with a TP to the beginning). If you decide to ride the Waterslide it is a giant, multilevelled slide. The ride took 4-5 minutes from the very top to the end. The Game Area is a dock overlooking the water. There are Yatzee, Greedy and Cards Against Humanity tables if you want to take in a game or two. You will also see rabbits and squirels hopping and running around as you make your way back to the landing point.
When you get back to the landing point, there are two additional TPs there. One is for the parachute jump and the other takes you to the track. The parachute jump is a nice way to get an arial view of the entire area. If you take the TP to the tracks near the land point to discover what lies underneath….another multilevel world. You will find tracks for racing, a functioning bowling alley, houses, camping area and a cave. It is totally different atmosphere than the upper level and another neat place to check out. I can imagine it is a fun place to race motorcycles and cars.
Club Zydeco offers a full schedule of performers and many things to do for fun including the 695m water slide! Take some time to visit and see what it's all about.
